Capernaum

We visited the ruins at Capernaum including the synagogue. Included in the ruins around the synagogue is "Peter's home" or some say Peter's Mother in law's home. (So said Constantine)

Mount of Beatitudes

We read the Beatitudes n the bus on the way there:
Jesus gave His people the beatitudes for kingdom-living while we r very much still apart of this earth. So this was a place that I have dreamed of going to since I dedicated my life to Him years ago! I was more than excited! Blessings r experiencing God as He works n ur life! And there r 8 blessings that (if we r diligent) we can experience:
1) Blessed r the poor n spirit for their's is the Kingdom of Heaven! Or easier for me to understand: blessed r those who ask God for help- totally depending on Him! If u do this u WILL see God work n ur life thru you!
2) Blessed r those who mourn for they will b comforted. Blessed r those who r saddened by all that makes God sad (no hardened hearts here!) If u can feel what God feels for sin u will draw nearer to Him!
3) Blessed r the meek for they will inherit the earth. Thanks to my friend Debbi I understand this! Break a person of her will to want to do wrong and u will find understanding and love. Meekness; gentleness; kindness. If u find these u will receive ur allotted portion.
4) Blessed r those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will b filled. They will be content/ satisfied/ happy!
5) Blessed r the merciful for they will b shown mercy. Buck used to always say "Mercy is not getting what we do deserve!"
6) Blessed r the pure n heart for they will see God. The "real" folks. No pretense or facade. No double-mindedness. Get honest w God and He will b honest w u!
7) Blessed r the peacemakers for they will b called sons of God. Not peacekeepers. Expose the sin. Identify the truth and help resolve it w God. Only Jesus can hold two polar opposites together.
8) Blessed r those who r persecuted bc of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. If u look too much like Jesus some people won't like you.
...this is where He gave that sermon!!

Cana-Jesus turns water into wine

We went to Cana today and just HAD to taste the wine. Our tour guide suggested that if we wanted to enjoy some wine tonight that this would b a great place to buy some! Mounting w excitement, we visited the site where Jesus turned the water into wine. Of course they have a church built on top. We shot some photos and had great fun reading the names of the priests that helped found the church. (See photo) We walked down to the wine shop - Buck and I plowed thru and raced to the counter for our free samples. I sipped just a little and a blend of apple cider vinegar and honey filled my mouth. I had to swallow hard to get it down and then remembered John2:10 when John tells us that a guest from the wedding exclaims to the bridegroom that he had "....saved the best wine for last." Well it was obvious that many years had past and possibly Jesus didn't want us to drink wine tonight! It was great fun!!

Gabriel tells Mary that she is blessed

We went to the church of the annunciation first this morning. It was a big church built over the original "house" where Gabriel told Mary that she would have Jesus. (The Emperor Constantine proclaimed THIS very house to b THE house where this occurred!) we took pictures of the remarkable location!

Jaffa, Caesarea and Mt. Carmel

We visited St. Peter's Monastery in Jaffa- this is where the Holy Spirit first fell on Gentiles after Peter received his vision of unclean foods.
We followed the Mediterranean coast to the ancient city of Caesarea to visit a Roman Theater, Aqueduct and fortress. Next we visited the Baha'i Shrine and gardens on Mt. Carmel. We then went to Armageddon where the last battle btw The Lord and Satan will occur according to St. John. We also walked thru a market place n Tiberias.
